3 Days Gorillas and Batwa Experience

Day 1 Entebbe Airport - Bwindi NP

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You can travel by road or domestic flight.

If travelling by domestic flight

Board your domestic flight to Kihihi Airfield where your guide will be waiting for you to drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will enjoy wonderful aerial views of Uganda on this 3hr flight.

If travelling by road

Your guide will pick you up and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It's a 7hr adventurous journey cutting through towns and villages with stop overs at the Equator for an equator experience, and Mbarara town for lunch. Enjoy the community encounters and cultural experiences along the way.

Upon arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, check into Nshongi Camp and relax. Spend the rest of the evening at Nshongi Camp.

Dinner and Overnight at Nshongi Camp – Full Board.

Day 2 Gorilla Tracking & Batwa Experience

Wake up early and have your breakfast. Your guide will drive you to the offices of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the 7am briefing on gorilla tracking. This briefing is done by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers and it gives you information about gorilla tracking, rules and regulations. After the briefing, head into the forest with your ranger and begin gorilla tracking. Your guide will stay at the park offices waiting for you.

Bwindi is a beautiful rainforest. It's home to Mountain gorillas, other primates, birds, and other nature. Enjoy these as well as you track the gorillas.

Encountering the gorillas

Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend one special hour viewing them. You will use this opportunity to take as many photos as you wish. You will be amazed at how gentle and human-like gorillas are.

After, you will trek back to the park offices where you will meet your guide, be given a certificate for your accomplishment, and drive back to Nshongi Camp for lunch.

In the evening, head out for a visit to the Batwa community for amazing batwa cultural experiences and entertainment. The batwa are a pygmy community that once inhabited the Bwindi forest but were relocated to its fringes to pave way for gorilla conservation.

After, head back to Nshongi Camp and spend the rest of the day at Nshongi Camp.

Dinner and Overnight and Nshongi Camp - Full Board.

Day 3 Bwindi NP - Entebbe Airport

This is the last day of your safari. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe Airport.

If travelling by domestic flight

Your guide will drive you to the airfied where you will board your domestic flight to Entebbe Airport - a 3hrs flight. Enjoy spectacular views of Uganda from the air.

If travelling by road

Your guide will drive you to Entebbe Airport, making stop overs along the way for lunch and community experiences as time allows.

If your flight is later in the evening, upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will check into your hotel in Entebbe as you wait for your flight. If your flight is immediate, board your flight back home.
